Senior appointments at McCain, Greencore and Brewdog

New president for McCain UK&I

Frozen potato products manufacturer McCain Foods announced the appointment of Jillian Moffatt as its new regional president for the UK and Ireland.

Previously chief technology officer for the business, Moffatt has been with McCain for the past 14 years. She will move from Canada to the UK to work closely with the brand to build on its recent successes and improve the business’ supply chain resilience and regenerative agriculture efforts.

Moffatt started her new position on 1 April along with new European President Alain Duranleau.

Commenting on her appointment, she said: “It is a privilege to be joining McCain GB&I after my 14 years with the business. McCain has immensely strong roots in the UK, from its relationships with British farmers to its reputation as maker of many families’ favourite food. ​

“I’m looking forward to working with the strong foundations McCain has today to continue driving its mission to make the nation’s favourite food, support families and reduce its impact on the environment.”​

Greencore non-exec appointment

Fresh-prepared meals manufacturer Greencore has appointed Harshitkumar (Hetal) Shah as Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 April 2023.

Currently chief financial officer for Europe at Belron International, Hetal brings extensive food industry and financial experience and has held numerous senior international finance roles over a 17-year career with Cadbury – including finance director roles in the UK, US, Asia and Africa. 

Outside of his background in finance, Hetal has significant experience in corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions, and has worked in both public listed and private equity backed organisations.

Hetal will also become a member of the Audit and Risk Committee upon appointment.

Chair Leslie Van de Walle said: “We are delighted to welcome Hetal to the Board. His addition brings in-depth food-industry experience from his tenure with Cadbury plc. This, combined with his strong financial experience will be highly beneficial to the Board.”​

Brewdog appoints chief supply chain officer

BrewDog has appointed Chris Fielden as its first chief supply chain officer, in charge of all aspects of sourcing, production, packaging and distribution for the drinks firm’s beers and spirits.

He joins the business from Warp Snacks where he is currently supply chain director. Prior to that Fielden spent over six years in a similar role at Innocent Drinks where he was responsible for establishing Innocent’s super sustainable production site in the Netherlands.

Fielden began his career at PepsiCo where he had multiple roles over a period of ten years, including running the manufacturer’s juices business in Europe.

Commenting on his appointment, Fielden said: ““I am very excited about joining BrewDog. It’s a company that wants to do business the right way and that’s really important to me. I love the product and I love the company’s people, planet, beer ethos.”

James Watt, BrewDog chief executive, added: “We’re really lucky to have someone of Chris’s calibre and experience join us. This is a new role, reflecting the continuing growth of the business and the ambitions we have for the future.”
