Top five food and drink deals of 2017: Catalyst
The acquisitions of sports nutrition firm Grenade and cereal brand Weetabix were two of the top five food and drink deals of 2017, featured in this photogallery, according to market analyst Catalyst Corporate Finance.
While the number of UK food and drink mergers and acquisitions has fallen since last year – down from 77 to 66 – there have been a number of high profile deals in the industry.
Catalyst directors Simon Peacock and Charles Lanceley identified some of the year’s most significant deals, which they said illustrated trends that have underpinned mergers and acquisition activity in food and drink during the past year.

Meanwhile, Tesco’s £3.7bn merger with food wholesaler Booker was approved by the Competitions and Markets Authority Yesterday (December 20).
