Global sourcing, thanks to Brexit, and vegan products lead this gallery of the top 10 UK food trends for 2018, according to market analyst Eurostar Commodities.
The unpredictable nature of the UK’s exit from the EU will drive producers to look worldwide to source raw materials and workers and vegan food sales will outperform organic, it predicted.
Eurostar’s trends report also predicted lupin beans would become popular among consumers looking for a healthier diet, as turmeric becomes a key ingredient going into 2018.
Other key trends identified by the company included a healthy snacks boom, healthy pizzas and a significant increase in Asian fusion cuisine at home.
